Do they honestly believe there are only a handful of books written by marginalized writers that are remotely worthy of publishing? Do they not realize marginalized writers not only have to compete against everyone else, but also have to fight to be seen among other marginalized writers?
If you ignore everything I've warned about here (and more I haven't even thought to mention), don't come whining to me when your finished product gets challenged. Don't whimper, "Damned if you do and damned if you don't," and expect me to have an abundance of sympathy.
We aren't a collection of quirks, stims, and sensitivities. We are real people with problems, like everyone else.
